After a strong first showing that managed to carve out its own original take on the established Batman mythos, Batman: The Telltale Series is getting a second season, and the first proper trailer for the sophomore season shows that Batman is going to have his hands full right from the get-go.
The second season is being called Batman: The Enemy Within, and as you can see in the above trailer, one of the new villains who will be prominently featured is Edward Nigma, a.k.a The Riddler. According to what’s shown in the trailer, The Riddler looks to be much more sadistic than he’s normally portrayed, and he was also apparently around before Bruce Wayne became Batman (suggesting that Telltale might be borrowing story elements from the recent Year Zero comic storyline). John Doe (a.k.a. proto-Joker) will be showing up as well, and the appearance of Amanda Waller suggests that the Suicide Squad could be entering the picture also.
In short, if season one revved up the engine, season two looks like it will be slamming down hard on the gas pedal. The first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within will launch on August 8.
