Ubisoft reveals free-to-play battle royale game, Hyper Scape

Another battle royale game has entered the arena.

In a Twitch stream, developer Ubisoft announced Hyper Scape, a free-to-play battle royale game that takes place in a cityscape in the year 2054. In the virtual city of Neo-Arcadia, 100 players drop-in gathering up weapons and hacks to take each other before certain parts of the city decay and dissolve. Check out the reveal trailer below:

The game can be played solo or in a team of three and what sets the game apart from other battle royale games are the hacks. Hacks are special abilities that allow players to set mine traps,  find enemies, turn invisible, put up walls of defense, among others. In addition, if you’re killed as a member of a team, you get to stay in the game but as a ghost or “echo” that can help out your teammates. Check out the gameplay overview below:

Ubisoft has been developing Hyper Scape for about two years and to create the game engine developers said they took the best bits of Rainbow Six Siege, Assassin’s Creed along with some custom mechanics to put together in a battle royale environment. Hyper Scape is currently running a technical test with select gamers being given the opportunity to try the game out. If you want to get a chance to play the game, connect your Uplay account to your Twitch account and watch some streams with hopes of getting a Hyper Scape drop.
